Nonprofit Datafolk Club: Data Sharing

Data sharing in nonprofits

In this Nonprofit Datafolk Club workshop we’ll be discussing data sharing.

Participants will be invited to discuss the following questions in small groups:

  • Do you share data with any other organisations (other than funders and regulators like the charity commission/companies house)? If so, what kind of data? What are the challenges and rewards? If you don't share data, why not? What data would you like to share if you could?

  • Do you share data with your service users/clients? If so how’s that working for you and them? If not, why not?

  • Do you use any data sharing platforms and/or dashboards to bring data together (from different sources - internally or externally?) If so, what do you use and how do you rate it?

  • Do you make use of open data? Are there any specific data standards or data sources you’d recommend to others?

About our Nonprofit Datafolk Club

Our Nonprofit Datafolk Club is a friendly group of like-minded data folk working in or with nonprofits. Every month we get together online for a free interactive workshop to share expertise, ask questions and discuss anything data-related.

What’s more, it’s free.

Previous attendees have said:

"What I like most about Nonprofit Datafolk Club is its relaxed and friendly nature."

"The format is good and the topics are always interesting."

"It was useful to speak to people from other organisations to hear what they are doing. Talking about the challenges we're facing here was helpful and I came away with a clearer understanding of our position."
